Good Citizen Awards:

Instead of our normal Thursday  night class,  December 8th was Good Citizen Night.   Dog Warden Gillian Abel came to examine 16 club members who were taking their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.  Gillian was impressed with the standard of those taking part and that they all had made it look so easy.  Gillian  was delighted that everyone passed.   More photos and details are on the Good Citizen Night page

Puppy Class Graduates:

Our latest group of puppies graduated on 21 November 2005  - click here to see them with their  ‘Mums’ and ‘Dads’ .

In June,  Arlene Deans qualified for Crufts with her black Lab Phoebe (Temple Bells Tilly)  in the Kennel Club Special Pre-Beginners Stakes.  Phoebe took second place in the qualifying heat held at Prestwick & District Dog Training Club’s Open Obedience show and went through as best Anything but Collie .  Lesley Norrie sneaked out of  Pre-Beginners at the same show by getting a 3rd place in Beginners with Daisy (Lady of the Day’s eye).

July  saw us hold our own very successful open obedience show.  Club member Hilary Hirst’s Australian Shepherd Quincy (Trijem all American Tale at Avawaga) took first place in the Beginner’s class.  Hilary went on to win her second Beginners class at the Lochaber and District Open show,  which  means that she is working Novice and A.

The first week in August saw Alison Robertson win the Pre-Beginners class at the three day open obedience show held by the Kirkwall Dog Training Club.  Her German Shepherd Morse (Foxfold Delegate) did her proud.

Later in August,  Judith Owen  won two Class A competitions with her collie girl Mikki (Stonegrove Mikki Plum).  This takes Judith to the dizzy heights of working Class B and Class C.

The club started working for the winter season again in September.  We held a heelwork to music morning given by Arlene Deans  and her friend Shona.  The stars of the morning were Arlene’s girls Libby and Phoebe, and Shona’s girls Dot and Tess.  The scene stealer was definitely Tess,  a Jack Russell,  especially when she ‘hid’ under her lab friend Phoebe.

Well done to Murphy (What Murph says goes) on qualifying to go to Olympia for the agility finals with  Laura Innes . We'll be looking out for you on the TV in December.
